The Blacksmith’s Arms is situated in the riverside village of Naburn, on the outskirts of York only 5 minutes away from the designer outlet off the A64/A19 Junction.  The pub has been in existence since 1750, it is a warm and friendly pub with a mixture of both locals and visitors alike.

The pub has two enclosed beer gardens which are just perfect for passing a relaxing afternoon away in the summer. In the colder months you will find a roaring fire in the fireplace with customers sat around enjoying the atmosphere.

Naburn is a small country village and civil parish in the City of York, North Yorkshire, England. It lies on the eastern side of the River Ouse.  It has existed since Saxon times and after the Normans invaded Britain the village land was given to one of William the Conqueror’s standard bearers.  Saint Matthew’s Church was built in 1854 by the Victorians.

Like the rest of York, Naburn village was affected by the flooding of 2000 which resulted in several houses being flooded.  Thankfully the Pub was largely unaffected with only minor flood damage to the cellar.  During this time the community was stranded and access by road was cut off, meaning the village had to rely on provisions being brought in via the cycle track by those residents willing to take this less than conventional route. You will see from the photograph on the website the extent of the flooding, the pub was, however, still open and locals made it in mostly by foot however one did arrive by boat!. After the floods the village was visited by HRH Prince of Wales and he even managed a quick tipple in the local!  As the photo in the gallery shows.

The Blacksmiths Arms is run by a friendly team who take pride in offering a warm welcome to all. With our Menu we offer homemade food featuring pub classics such as Steak & Ale Pie alongside our seasonal sharing platters – we hope that you will find something that all of your party will enjoy!

We look forward to seeing you at the Blacksmiths Arms in Naburn.
